Toad in the Light
Lamp's watchful gaze left Toad feeling protected. It was well after midnight, now approaching the witching hour, and their garden home was undoubtedly haunted. Yet the light cast down by Toad's soulmate gave the impression of sunlight shining down. It created an unnaturally vibrant perfect circle of illuminated foliage and a glow of safety. The spirits would be forced to keep to the shadows, leaving Toad and Lamp alone together.
