After sketching out the illustration on a panel, the line work is carved by hand using printmaking tools. Any text is then imprinted with a hammer and metal stamps.
coloring
A heavy wash of black acrylic paint covers the whole panel before color is applied. Prismacolor pencils create soft backgrounds; bold flat acrylics are added last, bringing characters to the foreground.
